its been another unproductive but fun weekend. another workweek looms ahead but this time there will be something to look forward to the following week; namely a long weekend and 2 days of (office-free)intra-navy waterpolo. yay!
i hate people who automatically brand clerks as slackers with a damn good life. it is not. everything has its plus and minuses. and the grass is always greener on the other side.
i finally finished 'the testament'. better return it to davis before he notices it is missing from the office haha. started on sabriel, it is damn interesting.
met the sonnys last night. originally we planned to watch a movie, and as usual our planning (or lack of) resulted in us being in a situation where the movie timings didnt suit us at all. we havent watched a movie together since sec school so it was a bit of a bummer. i like to feel nostalgic.
a trend has appeared in our gatherings, the mood tends to be more (a lot more) subdued. the big reality of adulthood is fast dawning upon all of us, and we spend a lot of the time cursing and regretting our laziness in school and as a result now trying to come up with business ideas that would make us rich. hahahahha.
i think it is fantastic that we are meeting up regularly now. i kinda missed them during the period i came back from trinity. it was quite a sucky time, you leave all your friends in melbourne and have nobody back home coz they are all busy getting on with their lives in jc and have drifted apart after sec school. i often refrained from calling them up coz i didnt want to be the annoying old friend who just needed some company.
i had NO social life except for kai, thank god i had her. she was very understanding and did her best to involve in her social life. grateful for how she tolerated me the annoying-tag-along bf. but i was never able make the leap from making 'her friends' become 'my friends' as well. they always remained 'kailyns friends'. perhaps i could have been slighty intimidated by it all, a social recluse being thrust into a (relative to me) big jc social network. my shyness sucks.
now that the old sonny gang are all in the same boat and have no more life (ie national service), it is heartening to know that we still rely on each other. what my teacher said was true, friends made in secondary school will be your closest. we ended up playing basketball and football at 2am after a long fruitless discussion about making money. bryan managed to kick the ball onto the rail tracks (the one that runs next to ulu pandan cc) which ended our activites for the night. haha nostalgia.
